In Pipistrel factory our plane Pipistrel Virus-SW standard version has been modified especially for GreenLight WorldFlight to achieve extreme distance (4000+ km), altitude (9000 m) and to be able to operate at extreme temperatures (ranging from +50 to -50 degrees Celsius). Standar Rotax 912S engine has been replaced by Rotax914 turbo with intercooler. The wing tank capacity was increased up to 300 litres and the baggage compartment got specially designed 50 litres fuselage tank. Cockpit was modified with new IFR instruments, HF radio and Spidertrack tracking device. The aircraft has been tested up to 750 kg MTOM (maximum take off mass) and registered as experimental.
