After passing 172,5 degrees W in an hour or so Matevz will be one day older - he will cross the international dateline. He will give one day that he earned on his previous round the world tour eastbounds. Shaun 28.02.2012 21:50:57 GMT

The research will be useful, especially as clean drinking water is vital to our survival---especially in the Pacific islands where climate change is ruining the water supply

Which Auckland airport is the plane landing at? Lazio 28.02.2012 19:43:08 GMT
@jordo : what about the one arriving from SW ? Poul Brandrup (Denmark) 28.02.2012 19:41:46 GMT
Hi Matevz, It certainly looks like you are looking for a way round a front, speed was down to 100 knots and flight level 7850 feet. But now you are up at 9400 feet and speed is picking up- Looking forward to learning more about the situation. Fligh safely. jordo 28.02.2012 19:38:59 GMT
That front is not wide......if he can break through then he has the perfect window yo get to NZ Lazio 28.02.2012 19:25:48 GMT
According to the animation on wunderMap, it seems the right turn is good option and the weather is becomming better in the next hours...fingers crossed ! jordo 28.02.2012 19:22:39 GMT
The weather here in Auckland is not good, I hope Matevez takes minimal risk..........sometimes the best decision is to divert avtofrik 28.02.2012 19:20:38 GMT

i saw on reports he is descending from FL100 to FL75, does he encounter some bad weather at this time ? Lukasz Grochal 28.02.2012 19:11:48 GMT
Looks like front clouds ahead. And no real option to fly along them this time. Good luck and take care - we're all here watching and keeping our fingers crossed. Big M 28.02.2012 18:18:23 GMT
Off and going again ! I am up early just to see your departure from Cook Islands and will follow you till arrival inNnew Zealand ... Safe flight my friend! Poul Brandrup (Denmark) 28.02.2012 18:00:33 GMT
Hi Matevz (and team), Have a safe flight as you pass the Dateline. The weather does not look too bad. According to my calculations you should arrive in Auckland around 16:00 - 16:30 PM. I am not sure I will be awake at 04:00-04:30 AM CET tomorrow morning, but for sure I will follow you for as long as I stay awake tonight. Bogdan 28.02.2012 17:53:49 GMT
As @Domen Grauf explains: "I don't know exactly how much Matevž filled up his reservoirs. We have arranged that 290 liters of fuel was waiting for him on this Cooks Island. I donh't know how much fuel was left after his flight from Tahiti and how much he added it. But for sure there is 300 l + aboard" Janez SLO 28.02.2012 17:43:40 GMT
Matevž, have a safe flight and may the weather be with you as we are in front of PC screens. Domen Grauf 28.02.2012 17:39:22 GMT
