Matevz crossed the Pacific Ocean in 2012.Alone took off from Concepcion, chile, with the first stage of 3,700 km to Easter Island. This stage took 15 hours and 04 minutes and was uneventful. Stage two was to Totegegie, some 2,271 km away. In the end he ran into a storm which was very difficult. Third stage was towards Tahiti with 1,692 km and 6 hours and 20 minutes of flight. Fourth was shorter to the Cook Islands 1,140 km and last incredibly stage was 3,098 km long and took around 13 hours with the landing in New Zeland. All together was 11,901 km long flight and took around 50 flight hours. Congratulations Matevz!

@Lazio: I hope this isn't a too personal question but may I ask where do you work as an ATCo?

@Lazio: I hope this isn't a too personal question but may I ask where do you work as an ATCo?

Lazio   29.02.2012  05:00:47 GMT
Thanks Domen, i'm ATC so... I just wondered if he need to deviate to the left to avois the rain arriving from his right... it seems he didn't i was right !!! nice stage to all of you !

Domen Grauf   29.02.2012  04:53:56 GMT
@Lazio: It wasn't the to avoid the rain ahead. He is trying to fly a great circle which cuts the sphere (earth) in two and represents the shortest distance between two points. Great circle routes are flown during long distance flights (headings have to be periodically modified).

TK   29.02.2012  04:53:55 GMT

all the time on the website is in UTC, which is a coordinated universal Time, it is important to use this time code because it does not change based on daylight savings etc http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coordinated_Universal_Time
